On Sunday August 14th, over 50 wedding vendors will gather in the Central Ballroom at Best Western Premier the Central Hotel & Conference Center. 1st Annual International IPA Day at the Central and O’Reillys Tap Room
To celebrate the 1st Annual International IPA Day, we are going to throw a proper party. The event will be held at O’Reillys Taproom and Kitchen in Best Western Premier the Central Hotel & Conference Center on Thursday August the 4th.
The schedule is as follows:
Starting at 5:00, there will be a growler and bottle share in the banquet room, next to the Pub (parallel to the bathrooms). Please bring a growler or a bottle of your choice to share with all of the attendees. Please note that it does not have to be an IPA, but IPAs are recommended due to the reason of celebration.
At 8:00, we move the festivities into O’Reillys itself, where there will be at least 6 IPAs on tap and one firkin on the bar. Ffej and ADG of “Think Tank” will be in the house that evening playing live music.
As for food, it will be available to purchase in the pub, and it can be brought in to the banquet room. Outside food will not be permitted in the banquet room. However, it is most important to note that this room is being provided to us free of charge to rent as long as we do not leave a mess behind, so please clean up after yourselves.
NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINKS ARE PERMITTED INSIDE OF THE PUB. This is not just a pub rule, but a state law, especially with alcohol.

3 New Beers on Tap at O’Reilly’s
NEW BEER ALERT!
Stoudts Double IPA part of their “Big Beer Series, this beer comes in at 90 IBUs. Hop taste is brought on by numerous kettle additions, and a lot of dry=hopping. Even if your not overly excited about IPAs in general this is a very good beer, with a fair balance with the malts. A little shocking that it has an ABV of 10%.
Victory Whirlwind Witbier uses imported German malts and Belgian yeast to make this mellow mildly spicy beer. Typical of the of the “white bier” style has refreshing taste to it, and a drinkable ABV at 5%
Ithaca Flower Power clover honey hue and tropical nose. Simultaneously punchy and yet soothing with a big body and a finish that boasts pineapple and grapefruit. Flower Power is hopped and dry-hopped five different times throughout the brewing and fermentation process. 75 IBUs and an ABV of 7.5%

New Beer Alert!
Two changes the Perkulator and the Double Trouble both switched.
Without stoning me and I will spare you a description, one of the new beers is Yuengling Lager which I have for a group coming in, and the other is Troegs Sunshine Pils. Keep in mind the Troegs Seasonals are half price for Happy Hour 5 to 7 pm Monday thru Friday.

Gala Grand Opening a Great Success
On April 14, 2011, the Central Hotel & Conference Center hosted a gala grand opening to celebrate the official transition of the hotel from a Four Points by Sheraton to a Best Western Premier. With over 200 guests, civil war reenactors, Hershey characters, Abe Lincoln and Philly Elvis all in attendance, the evening featured passed canapés, a pasta station, carving station and a decadent dessert bar featuring Hershey chocolate fondue. Other highlights included there magnificent ice sculptures by Food & Beverage manager Kevin Flannigan.

Announcing the 2011 Sportsman’s Tournament Schedule
Sportsman’s Golf Course has introduced a brand new tournament schedule for the 2011 golf season. From tournament competition supported by the Harrisburg District Golf Association (HDGA) for the serious player to fun events for players of all skill levels, Sportsman’s monthly tournaments are the place to play in 2011.
Sportsman’s Better Ball Championship opened the tournament season on Sunday, April 10th. Dan Brown & Brian Auman won a three hole playoff for the victory after posting a two under par round of 69 during regulation (HDGA). May 14th will feature Sportsman’s Individual Championship (HDGA). June’s event is a Guys & Dolls tournament with a fun and unique format. Sportsman’s will celebrate the July 4th holiday with a Star Spangled Scramble event ~ fun and patriotic. August will play a new annual Seniors Individual Championship with age divisions (HDGA). September features a reinstated two day Club Championship with flight divisions. The 2011 tournament season at Sportsman’s will culminate with October’s selected charity benefit, November’s Turkey Buster two player scramble and December’s 9 hole shootout finale.
Sportsman’s will also host the Harrisburg area’s best two player team match play league, playing Thursday evenings from mid May to early September. The format is fun and competitive with cumulative points, closest to the pin contest and weekly skins game. Arrange your match time with your weekly opponents to suit your work and lifestyle schedule.
